Parents Vs Coaches Match
Saturday 27th June 2009
On a sweltering day at Briary the match was played over three half
hour periods. The coaches started well and built a 3 - 0 lead. The
Parents improved and were the better side in the second and third
periods and managed to pull two goals back but couldn't get the
elusive but deserved equaliser. Final score Coaches 3 Parents 2.

A special mention for Pete Tait who has
shown an enormous commitment to Herne Bay Harriers Youth Football Club.
Pete has coached and watched his team grow from Under 8 through to Under
18, an unprecedented 11 years.
After the last game of the season on 3rd May 2009 the players and their
parents expressed their gratitude for all his time and effort over the
years.
As his players move on to adult football he will continue his duties as
chairman of the club and hopefully be back coaching some time in the
future.
There has been some changes to the players over the seasons but a few
have stood the test of time. Can you spot them?

Nick Hope 50 goals
in a season
A special mention must
be given to Nick Hope from the under 13’s who secured is 50th
goal of the 2008/09 season with another superb hatrick against St
Margarets. Nick has been with the team for the past 3 seasons and
since day one has made a massive impact and helped turn the
fortunes of the team into a league winning side.
It takes a team to score, not individuals, and Nick would never have
achieved this land mark without having the support from the rest of
the squad, however to achieve 50 goals in a season is a monumental
achievement for anyone in any league and has been possible by total
commitment and determination of which Nick has in abundance. Well
done mate and big thanks on behalf of the team. In recognition of
this achievement Nick was presented a golden boot trophy from the
Team. |
