Man of the Match J. Bishop scored twice as Herne Bay Harriers Under 15’s secured all three points when they beat Ashford Dynamo’s 2 -1 in the Parker Steel League.

Both teams exchanged chances in the early stages of the game and the Harriers had ball in the net, but this was ruled out because of off side. The deadlock was eventually broken when R. Gower made the Dynamo’s keeper save his shot, but the ball landed at J. Bishop’s feet and he finished from close range.

In the second half the Harriers played the better football with B. Sargeant and R. Tait running the midfield, which provided goal scoring opportunities for L. Senft. Dynamo chased the game, but the Harriers defence of M. Smith, J. Gould, T. Watts and J. Putnam were formidable.

The Harriers extended their lead mid-way through the second half, when J. Bishop finished again from close range following a superb run from D. Marsden on the left. With seconds remaining Dynamo score a consolation goal.
