Man of the Match L. Senft scored a hat trick as
Herne Bay Harriers Under 15’s defeated Curzon Rangers 7 – 0 in their
Division 3 clash.
In a very one sided game the Harriers took the initiative early in the match
when B. Sargeant struck a superb shot from outside of the box which flew
into the top corner of the goal. The Harriers pushed for a second with shots
from R. Tait, J. Bishop and R. Gower. The second came following a rebound
off the keeper and L. Senft got his first from a tight angle.
M. Weeks was on target for the third and Senft got his seconded just before
half time. Curzon proved to be harder to break down in the early stages of
the second half, but eventually their defence was breached by D. Marsden
from close range, with J. Putnam getting his first of the season from a long
range shot.
The Harriers defence of M. Epps, T. Watts, J. Gould, M. Smith and J. Culver
in the Harriers goal, were solid and never put a foot wrong, keeping a vital
clean sheet. To finish off a good performance by the Harriers Senft
completed an outstanding hat trick with minutes remaining.
