Herne Bay Harriers 10 Deal Town 1

Christmas gifts came early for the Harriers under 12s as they entertained Deal Town. In a relentless opening spell the home side refused to allow the visitors to leave there own half and desperate defending saw Harriers convert from three of the many corners. The first saw a clearance scrambled to the edge of the penalty box where T.Inglis was on hand to hammer home a shot, the second, was half cleared to B.Tamplin who delightfully curled the ball into the top corner and the third came from D. Van Orsouw with a fierce drive.

Deal Town punished a poor goal kick after there first attack had missed the goal by the narrowest of margins to provide brief hope. Before the interval Van Orsouw thumped a shot from outside the area, which, the keeper got a hand to but was unable to prevent the goal.

Within a minute of the restart Inglis’ tireless work in midfield won the ball and a perfectly weighted pass sent Van Orsouw scampering through to complete his hat trick.
J. Blackwell was re-introduced as a striker and his frustration was short lived when on 48 minutes he saw his shot turned onto the post by the acrobatic keeper but this time luck smiled kindly.

O. Love moving into a more central role provided Van Orsouw with his fourth on the hour mark and Van Orsouw returned the compliment twofold as first Love took advantage of the pass and a disorientated keeper to fire into an empty net and then had to beat the keeper on the second occasion at his near post.

In the dying minutes ‘four goal’ Van Orsouw completed his hat trick of assists when he unselfishly passed into the path of the on running Inglis who did not break stride before finishing with his left foot ending the game as he started it.
