A great start to the match with both sides battling from
the off.
Chances were made from both sides but after some great
goalkeeping from both keepers the game remained scoreless.
On about the 20 minute mark Dover struck the first goal
after catching Harriers on the break.
The players heads did not drop and continued to pressure
the Dover defence, but just before half time Dover scored their second from a
corner to leave the score 0 - 2 going into half time.
After a stern but positive team talk at the half time
interval the Harriers team spirit seemed to be high, to which was proven from
the minute the game kicked off for the second half with the Harriers went
looking for a goal and was found by J. Inglis who neatly lobbed the ball over
the goal keeper.
The pressure continued by the Harriers and on the 45
minute mark K. Laughton hit a sweet half volley from the half way line to lift
it over the keepers head for an outstanding equaliser.
As the game went on neither team could break down there
opponents defence, unfortunately J. King suffered a bloody nose after making a
great save to keep the score level.
His replacement J. Mount was thrown straight in at the
deep end coming on at a very difficult time but more than stood up to the
challenge.
Dover then scored a third with a well struck powerful
shot.
B. Austin then made a heroic clearance of the line to
keep his team in the game.
As time went on Harriers kept there composure and were
rewarded with a goal 5 minutes from time after some great team work to which
J. Inglis finished off by blasting into the back of the net.
This game was played in great spirit by both sides and
they were a credit to what football is all about.
Well done players a well deserved point.
