Herne Bay Harriers 2 Deal Town Rangers 4

Herne Bay Harriers Under 11s were narrowly beaten in a well contested game at Deal Town on Sunday.

Both sides started well but it was Deal who took the lead midway through the 1st half.

K. Bleau then made a fine run through the Deal defence to calmly equalise for Harriers.

Bleau playing behind a Harriers five man midfield caused their defence problems all afternoon.

However, Deal responded quickly and led  2-1 at the break.

Harriers went looking for the equaliser and K. Ayles finished well to draw the game level.

Harriers fought for every tackle with S. Rose, T. Ireton, K. Ayles and C. Hammond giving their all.

S. Harding was now beating his defender down the right and his corners were well delivered but well defended by Deal.

A game which either team could have won, went Deals way when they grabbed their third.

The Harriers defence of Waite, Lee, Musgrove and Bennett battled throughout and B. Taylor who was used in defence, midfield and upfront due to Harrier injuries had his best game of the season.

Harriers fought to the end but an unfortunate late 4th goal gave the impressive T. Wood in the Harriers net little chance.

Harriers M.O.M. went to B. Waite.

Under 11s have another hard game next week when they face Ramsgate Youth for a place in the 1/4 finals of the cup.
