Herne Bay Harriers Under 11's found themselves playing Deal Town Colts Under 12's in a friendly on Sunday.

The game started brightly and Harriers took the lead after good work from K.Ayles put T.Ireton into the box who finished well.

Playing the better football but against a much bigger team,  Deal equalised and then took the lead.

The second half was again tight with Deal going further ahead before C. Hammond pulled one back for the home team.

Many substitutions were made in this period with players in various positions and Deal scored twice more.

The Harriers defence, in particular J. Bennett who had his best game of the season at left back, acquitted themselves well.

The best goal of the match was saved to the end when Harriers skipper K. Ayles hit a free kick from 25 yards into the top right hand corner.

A tremendous strike which would not have been bettered anywhere this weekend.
