Herne Bay Harriers 3 Kennington Colts 3
The U11s kicked off against Kennington at Briary and were soon in their stride.
With K Bleau and K Ayles making good runs it was only a matter of time before Harriers pressure paid off.
K Bleau got Harriers off the mark after good work down the left and with S
Harding and T Ireton working well in midfield the boys went in 1-0 at half
time.
Harriers then began to dominate and S.Rose scrambled the ball over the line to
give Harriers some breathing space.
The team should have finished the game off with some lovely football being shown but Kennington on the break pulled a goal back.
T Wood was then called into action in the Harriers goal but made two
quality saves.
K Ayles then scored a fine goal, to restore our two goal lead with his 50th
competitive goal for the club.
Harriers then began to dominate but were unable to finish off some good
moves.
Kennington pulled another back with the goal of the game with a 25 yard screamer
and in the very last kick of the game got their equaliser.
Credit to Kennington for their fighting spirit in what was an enjoyable game well refereed by Mr Darren Waters.
A good performance by the boys which deserved all three points.
Special mention to T Wood & K Bleau but the Harriers man of the match as
nominated by a Harriers supporter was T Ireton.
