Herne Bay Harriers 4 Monkton Youth 5

Harriers Under 11s played Monkton at Briary on Sunday in a Div 2 clash.

The home team started with the strong wind in their favour and S. Harding put Harriers ahead with a fine shot.

The score was soon doubled when K. Bleau finished after good work by him down the left wing and K. Ayles made it three from 25 yards with a great strike.

Harriers now in full flow made it four when T. Ireton struck from just inside the box to make it 4-0 to the home team at half time.

The second half was a full reverse of the first.

Harriers were finding it difficult to play out against the wind and Monkton pulled one back early on.

Monkton piled on the pressure and scored again from a corner, then a long range effort.

Monkton now in control levelled and then took the lead.

Harriers had a couple of chances but a game of contrasting halves dominated by the conditions resulted in Monkton leaving with all 3 points.

Harriers Man of the match was Kyle Ayles who had  yet another good game.
