Snowdown & Aylesham 3 Herne Bay Harriers 1

After two seasons of successive promotions Harriers came to earth with a bump in division one.

A clearance from the halfway line caught B. Hibben out in the Harriers goal and within five minutes of the campaign start some lax marking saw the home side double their lead.

Harriers eventually got into the game and were able to hold their own but found the villagers very difficult to break down.

Late in the second half B. Tamplin opened his account for the new season from the penalty spot after T. Inglis had his legs taken from beneath him.

Despite their best efforts Harriers were unable to equalise and in the dying moments, having thrown caution to the wind, the Home side made the game safe.

Harriers learnt a valuable lesson concerning the standard of football at this level.
