Tankerton 1 Herne Bay Harriers 5

Harriers Under 14's travelled to near neighbours Tankerton.

Both sides newly promoted have found life to be tough in Division One this year.

Harriers started the brighter and broke through inside two minutes when T. Inglis played a diagonal ball through to H. Evans on the left wing who despite being challenged fired home past the advancing keeper.

Quarter of an hour later B. Tamplin maintained his composure to double the visitors lead and Harriers started to take control.

However, a well worked move by the home side cut the deficit and Harriers found themselves on the back foot for the last ten minutes of the half.

Harriers lost L. Parker to injury and D. Watson marshalled the reshuffled defence with confidence beyond his years.

J. Blackwell was rewarded early in the second half for his tireless effort when he added Harriers third with a fierce shot and when Tamplin scored his second the result was certain.

Tamplin completed his hat trick late in the game from the penalty spot after the keeper produced a tackle that was sadly lacking from our national rugby team!
