Kennington Juniors 2 Herne Bay Harriers
5
The boys started slowly but soon got into their stride and a good passing move saw us take a 1 - 0 lead with T. Barton applying the finishing touch to a low cross.
The boys had to work hard against a very industrious Kennington side, but still looked to play attractive football creating several chances.
The lead was increased midway through the first half and A. Jervis made in 3 - 0 with a looping shot from outside the box, his first of the season.
Kennington continued to battle and deservedly reduced the deficit before half time.
An early second half goal saw us take a commanding lead and despite conceding a second, we always looked in control, despite the efforts of our opponents.
A further goal before the end made the final score 5-2.
The boys have benefited from the additional midweek training sessions following our lack of pre-season and we should hopefully improve week on week from now and start climbing up the league table.
