It was important for the team to continue their recent winning ways against a potentially difficult opponent.

The boys took control from the start and looked sharper than in previous weeks, and took a deserved lead, Z. Wakerly finishing off an excellent passing move involving all outfield players.

The boys continued to press and were rarely threatened, with a further two goals added by T. Barton before half-time.

The boys dominated the first part of the second half and should have increased the 3 - 0 lead on several occasions.

Eventually a mazy dribble from F. Effemey ended with his shot taking a deflection and ending up in the back of the net.

Still the boys pushed on and could have easily doubled their advantage as chances came and went.

In all fairness to Thanet, they never gave up and managed to score a goal in the dying minutes.

With R. Young back to his best, and excellent support work from Jervis, Stevens and Baker, this was a good all round team performance.

This win lifts the team to 4th in the league, and our sights are now set on the top three!!!!
