Steve Ginger Memorial Cup
Herne Bay Harriers 4 Snowdown & Aylesham
1
On a very cold and wet Saturday morning the Harriers put last weeks disappointment behind them by putting in a splendid display of football.
From start to finish the Harriers dominated the play with breathtaking passes and shot after shot at the oppositions goal.
With half time nearing, "The Dribbler," alias L. Quirke took the ball around 2 stranded players, squared it into the goalmouth for J. "The Deadly" Nutt to pounce & slot it home.
With the rain now lashing down, the second half started and Snowdown & Aylesham grabbed a quick equalizer.
The Harriers stepped up their game and before long, after another goalmouth scramble, the ball was deflected into the net resulting in a own goal.
As the pressure mounted in the last 15 mins the ball found its way out to H. "The Hare" Planson on the right hand side who took the ball clean through the middle leaving their defence to chase shadows and coolly slotted it passed a despairing keeper for his first league goal.
To finish off a splendid performance H. "The poacher" Bartlett nipped in to net his second goal of the season.
Well done boys for a breathtaking
performance and showing myself and the coach that you really want this cup.
