Snowdown & Aylesham 0 Herne Bay Harriers
Colts 2
On a cold and wet day Herne Bay Harriers Under 9 Colts notched up another victory, 2 - 0 away to Snowdown and Aylesham.
The first half got underway with chance after chance for the Harriers and Snowdown and Aylesham wishing they were still home in the warm but it wasn't until 10 minutes into the first half that the deadlock was broken with A. Taylor, the wing wizard, attacking the left back and passing the ball square to the fox in the box, C. Sargeant, who calmly side footed the ball into the net to make it 0 - 1 to the Colts.
With the wind blowing and the rain falling it was difficult for both sides to play some decent football but it was really all one way traffic with Harriers Colts Under 9s totally dominating possession and any threat from the opposition was dealt with easily by the Harriers defence and keeper.
Even though Harriers pushed for a second goal they couldn't convert any of their many chances so the score stayed 0-1 at the interval.
The second half got underway and again Harriers were pushing for a second goal, after a number of corners that were either saved or cleared Harriers finally struck, J. Burrows, Man of the Match, crossed the corner into the near post, A. Taylor hit a splendid right foot volley to beat the keeper all ends up and increased the Colts lead to 0 - 2.
Now the wind and rain had picked up the
pace and so had the Harriers but they just couldn't increase their lead any
further so they had to settle for a 0 - 2 victory.
