Herne Bay Harriers Colts 4 Hawkinge 0
Herne Bay Harriers Under 9 Colts notched up yet another win beating Hawkinge 4 - 0.
The first half got underway and harriers made all the running pressing Hawkinge into their own half and condensing the play.
Spiller, Mercer, Taylor and Sargeant were linking up play well with some lovely one, two touch football and creating chance after chance.
It was only a matter of time before the deadlock was broken, with some fantastic interplay A. Taylor, the wing wizard, opened up the scoring picking up the ball on the right hand side, drifting inside the Hawkinge defender and unleashing an unstoppable shot from the edge of the box which went across the keeper and into the bottom left hand corner of the net.
With Harriers still piling on the pressure it was inevitable that Harriers would strike again even though the Hawkinge keeper was pulling off save after save.
Mercer the maestro collected a pass from Spiller (norman nippy) and fed the pass into A. Taylors' path which he took in his stride going round one, then two Hawkinge defenders before placing the ball past the stranded Hawkinge keeper making the score 2-0.
With Harriers pretty much camped in the
Hawkinge half they were rewarded a corner, which was cleared out to near the
halfway line, of which C. Gray the cobra latched onto the free ball and struck
the ball with absolute venom, the ball went like an arrow straight into the top
right hand corner of the net bringing the score to 3-0 at the break.
The second half got under way and despite the Harriers dominating the entire
game they couldn't increase their lead but eventually A. Taylor the wing wizard
turned on the magic beating the Hawkinge left back and slotting the ball into
the far post underneath the advancing goalkeeper making the goal his third of
the game and a 4 - 0 victory at the final whistle.
Stand in goalkeeper M. Farbrace kept his discipline throughout and showed a good attitude even though he had next to nothing to do.
