Herne Bay Harriers senior team suffered their first defeat of the season when they were beaten 4 – 2 by Great Chart Colts FC.

Both teams exchanged chances throughout the first half and the Harriers were unlucky not to take the lead when J. Bishops' shot clipped the top of the cross bar.

R. Blackwell kept the score level with an excellent save low down to his right, but he could do nothing to stop the shot which took Great Chart into lead just before half time.

Great Chart extended their lead early in the second half and this proved to be a wake up call as the Harriers, who started to play with good passing and movement and dominated the match.

As the Harriers chased the game Great Chart scored two quick goals putting the game out of reach.

However, a superb strike from M. King and a long distant goal from L. Senft gave some respectability to the score line at the final whistle.
