Hythe Town 5 Herne Bay Harriers 2

Man of the Match R. Blackwell in the Harriers goal produced an excellent performance in their 5 – 2 defeat to Hythe Town and kept the score line respectable.

In atrocious conditions the Harriers struggled to come to terms with the wind in the first half and their defensive failings were exposed again.

E. Webb had the only chance to score in the first half, but his shot went just past the post and the Harriers went in at half time five down.

The Harriers were on par with Hythe Town in the second half and saw good performances from J. Putnam, T. Watts and R. Tait.

A well worked goal from B. Sargeant and a superb strike from L. Senft gave the Harriers hope, but this was too late and at the whistle Hythe secured the points.
