Grasshoppers 3 Herne Bay Harriers 7

After last weeks impressive performance it was important that we kept the momentum going.

We started slowly on a bumpy pitch with a strong crosswind and whilst we tried to play football our performance was below that of last week and although we opened the scoring, some sloppy play let Grasshoppers equalise soon after.

As the half progressed we found our discipline and began taking our chances, going in at half time 6-1 up.

The second half was a tale of missed chances and misfortune in defence. Our football improved but we seemed to try too hard to get it right and converted only 1 of a hatful of chances, also conceding two goals down primarily to bad luck.

We never looked troubled in this game, but the real test will be next week against Hawkinge, the League leaders. Win and we're one point off the top place, lose or draw and it will be an uphill struggle to claim top spot.

Next Sunday we need to be at full strength, fully focused and disciplined in our approach from the start. Rediscover the level of performance we are capable of and improve our goals scored to chances created ratio, and we can send a shockwave through the division.
