Trinity 'A' 1 Herne Bay Harriers 7

We needed to maintain momentum as we approach the end of the first half of the season.

We started brightly and scored inside 2 minutes. The remainder of the half was goalless, with the Trinity goalkeeper making some brilliant saves.

It was fairly equal possession wise and we had our fair share of defending to do, and we did look a little vulnerable at times.Going forward we were better, but our passing was a little sloppy.

Second half we were brighter and appeared more up for the game. We defended better and minimised their threat and created plenty of chances. Our football improved and we started to look more in control of the game.

Another new face, Ethan, put in a good first performance and always looked a threat, scoring one goal and creating several others.

We must strive to be effective from the first whistle and put these type of teams away earlier. However, it was another win by a reasonable margin and a further three points in the bag.

Maybe I am being a little critical of the players, considering in the last 5 games our record stands as W4 D1 L0 F44 A12 GD+32, which most managers’ would be pleased with. But I feel that these players can reach a higher level, and it would be wrong if they were not pushed hard to attain what they are capable of.

We are getting there and it will come together, and at that stage it will be interesting to see what performance and results we then manage.
