Faversham Town Juniors 2 Herne Bay Harriers 1

Harriers Under 13s travelled to Faversham Town on Sunday after an 8 week break.

The team started well enough and half way through the half a mix up in the Faversham defence allowed the ever persistent Tom Ireton to take advantage of this and he had the simplest task of finishing into an empty net.

The team coped well against a very big Faversham team and in Henry Lee and Ben Waite in particular were more than capable.

Henry Lee in particular was superb with his tackling. With Charlie Hammond and Ryan Lee working well in midfield Harriers went into a deserved lead at half time.

The second half was similar to the first with both teams trying to play. Midway through the half  Faversham drew level with a good goal.

Both teams were very competitive and with 2 minutes remaining a point a piece looked a fair outcome.

However, Faversham scored a fantastic goal, a 30 yard strike and wrapped up all 3 points.

A very disappointing result, if not performance which the team did not deserve.

On a positive note after 8 games, Harriers U13s remain top of their division on goal difference.

The second half of the season will be interesting but a quick return to winning ways is essential.

A couple of players could have got the Harriers MOM but this week it went to Andrew Orr who is now adding the steel to his play which now compliments his footballing ability. So well Done Andrew.
