Kennington Juniors 'A' 0 Herne Bay Harriers 7

Harriers Under 13s travelled to Kennington on Sunday. With both teams sitting 1st and 2nd in the league it was a game that we were looking forward to.

The Under 13s started well and had the better of the play.

After 15 minutes Tom Ireton put Harriers into a deserved lead.

With the defence holding firm, Chas Dadswell , Luke Loxston, Hernry Lee and Ben Waite all strong in the tackle we looked the better team.

With Charlie Hammond and Ryan Lee providing the passes for the front two we looked dangerous and in the last few minutes of the half Kieran Bleau put Harriers 2-0 up and almost immediately from the re start Tom beat their keeper on a one on one to give us a 3-0 lead at half time.

This seemed to knock Kennington who had been in the game until then.

After the break a perfectly weighted through ball from Charlie found Kieran Bleau in full stride and he made no mistake to make it 4.

Then a great corner from Kieron Laughton found Tom on the far post who headed home to claim his hatrick.

Tom was then fouled in the box and Charlie made no mistake from the spot and then the industrious Ryan Lee made it 7- 0 with a shot from 18 yards.

Harriers finished their chances very well on the day and Allan Delow in the Harriers goal was impressive and kept his clean sheet.

The Under 13s probably had as good a performance in last 3 years with all 13 involved playing very well.

This result now puts the team 6pts clear at the top of the league.

Harriers MOM went to Ben Waite who was exemplary in the heart of Harriers defence.
