Merv Willis Memorial Cup
Herne Bay Harriers 0 Margate Youth

Harriers win 3 - 0 on penalties
In a game which both defences held the upper hand there were little goal scoring chances for either side.
A back injury to a Margate player stopped play for 25 minutes ( Player taken to hospital but thankfully O.K and later discharged ) saw a goalless first half.
The second half was just as close with the Harriers defence of Calvin Saward, Ben Waite, Chas Daswell, Charlie Hammond and Allan Delow in goal playing well.
Extra time was inevitable and in the dying seconds Allan Delow kept Harriers in the tie with a point blank save from 5 yards.
Harriers best player of the afternoon Ryan Lee took Harriers first spot kick and put his penalty away comfortably.
Charlie Hammond and then Kieran Bleau followed Ryan and they equally left their keeper no chance.
With Margate failing to hit the target with their first two penalties it was left to Allan Dellow to save Margate's third and see Harriers into the next round.
A competitive and sporting game by two evenly matched teams.
A special mention to Luke Loxton making hid debut for the club who had a good game in the centre of Harriers midfield.
The Harriers will face Thanet Colts A in the next round on 18th October 2009.
Harriers MOM went to Ryan Lee, who took the eye of the spectators, among them the Vice Chairman of the East Kent Youth Football League.
