Herne Bay Harriers 2 Herne Bay Youth 2

Harriers Under 13s played Herne Bay Youth at Briary on Sunday and earned a hard fought point in a 2-2 draw.

The opposition took the initiative going 1-0 up but Harriers were playing some neat football with the midfield four of Ryan, Kieron, Andrew and Charlie linking up well and trying to get Tom and Kieron into scoring positions.

A perfectly taken corner from Kieron Laughton found Ben Waite making a well timed run into the box and he finished with a great header to equalise. Kieron Laughton then hit the bar from a free kick  but it was opposition who scored next to go into a  2-1 lead before half time.

The second half saw both teams pressing but the Harriers defence of Chas Dadswell, Luke Loxston, Henry Lee , Harry Darling  and Ben Waite were committed and strong. Allan Delow in the Harriers goal also had a good game making 3 great saves during this period.

However, Harriers had their chances and when  Kieron Laughton then took responsibilty form a free kick, he scored from 25 yards to equalise for the home team.  However,  neither side to could get the decisive 3rd goal and a point a piece was probably a fair result.

All 14 Harriers played their part including Harry Parker and Calvin Saward who were unfortunate to have limited time on the park.

Some great performances today but for his towering display at centre half , the Harriers U13s MOM to Chas Dadswell.
