Tyler Hill Youth 0 Herne Bay Harriers 'A' 1

 

The Harriers went into the match knowing that a win would guarantee them runners up in the league. With the sun shining it was going to be hard work. However the Harriers started well when Cameron Hayward drove down the left but got tackled at the vital moment. Joe Evenden skipper for the day came out of defence only to shoot wide. Ryan Kingsford then broke down the right but was unable to find Morgan May in the middle.

As the half drew on the boys tired but were defending well as a team with Jack Masters leading the way. No goals at half time.

As the second half started the Harriers knew they were going to have to give every effort to break down the Tyler Hill defence. Luke Davis-Martine made a great run down the left but the ball bobbled at the vital moment. Callum Wyles rode tackle after tackle but was not able to get his shot off. As the half drew on the Harriers were on top but could not get that goal. It came from Ryan Kingsford; he won the ball in the middle beat two defenders and shot from outside the box. The ball hit the bar and rolled down the net.

Tyler Hill threw everything forward allowing the Harriers a little more space to play. Billy Surbey made a surprise appearance from the bench despite playing with a broken nose, he showed real courage. Lewis Quinney then received the ball in the box he turned the defender twice to create space. He shot but the Tyler Hill keeper made a great save. As the game drew to a close the Harriers were still looking to go forward.

The final whistle went Jamie Kemp in the Harriers goal had kept the clean sheet they were looking for. The Harriers had done it and claimed the RUNNERS UP spot in the league. WELL DONE LADS!!!!!
